The History of Oldsmobile's Vista-Cruiser
The Vista-Cruiser Station Wagon was manufactured by the Oldsmobile division of GM from 1964 to 1972. In that era -- as with modern SUVs -- consumers wanted a versatile family vehicle that could hold a large amount of cargo and passengers. The distinctive "Vista" windows that run the length of the wagon's passenger compartment were an option. Their unusual style was derived from the curved, atrium Vista windows used on railroad passenger cars during the mid-20th century.
